Julia Hays, 23, is a 2009 graduate of Rowan University, with a degree in Journalism, with a minor in Spanish, and a concentration in International Studies. She is a staff writer for Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ. She is also site editor of two hyperlocal blogs – Cherry Hill InJersey and Collingswood InJersey. The Courier-Post and InJersey are Gannett publications.
During her college career, Julia was a member and officer of Rowan’s chapter of Circle K International and a DJ for the university’s radio station, Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM. She was also a columnist and staff writer for the student publication, The Whit, and spent a year making appearances as the university’s mascot.
A native of Pitman, NJ, Julia was an involved student who graduated from Pitman High School in June 2005. From August 2005 through June 2006, she lived in Argentina as a Rotary International-sponsored exchange student. She began her college education at Rowan University in the fall of 2006 and graduated with her undergraduate degree in May 2009.
